Why waking up early is important to accomplish your dreams and goals

Wake up early

There are pretty impressive statistics out there that support waking up earlier and an improved satisfaction level with life. Even though it may feel tough at the start, making a change in your lifestyle to accommodate earlier starts is for the best.

Your mornings should be filled with tackling tasks important to you before you actually have to start your day. Say you want to read the paper every morning before you take the kids to school. In order to get this done, you must wake up before you actually have to.

Waking up early and knocking out tasks will help you have a more peaceful rest of the day as you have started off on the right foot.

Waking up before 6:00 AM is a must. If that sounds impossible, you’ll need to find some motivation through activities. Here are the best ways I have found that really get me up and awake during the early morning hours.

Prepare:

Prepare your morning supplies the night before. Clothes, coffee, briefcase or purse – anything you will need the next morning. If you have yourself already laid out, you body will take over when you wake up and you will have time for your mind to full wake up.

Having your stuff ready the night before will prepare you for the day and start you off right!

Get To Bed:

Get to bed at a reasonable time and allow for a minimum of 6 hours of sleep. There is a lot of debate on how much sleep you actually need every night. The reality is you need as much sleep as you tell yourself you need.

If you think you need 8 hours, then go to bed a little earlier. If you only think you need 6, that’s great too. The reality is, if you are consistent with the amount of sleep you are getting each night, your body will adjust. The key is to make sure you are getting up early every morning to jump start your day.

Hydrate:

Drink a Glass of water before bed, and a glass of cold water in the morning. The cold water will get your metabolism in hyperdrive. Making sure you are hydrate before you go to bed will help prevent you from waking up thirsty, disturbing peaceful sleep. Do not drink too much water though! In the case that you do, you will probably be waking up in the middle of the night having to go to the bathroom.

Extra Wake Me Up:

*Not for the faint of heart* Take a cold shower. This is not fun, but you will be blown away by how quickly your body wakes afterwards.

If you abide by these rules you will be up and awake early enough to enjoy some time alone, with your partner, or on an important project at work. Get to it!
