McDonald’s Employees Reveal to ETI the One Menu Item You Should Never Order

Obviously, if you go to McDonald’s, you shouldn’t expect a healthy, well-rounded meal. That’s sort of the point of fast food. But that doesn’t mean everything on the menu is completely horrible for your health. But apparently there’s one item at McDonald’s you should avoid like the plague.

A recent Reddit thread asked fast food workers to recommend an item that people should never eat under any circumstances. McDonald’s employees quickly jumped on the thread to expose the horrors of their worst item: the Filet-o-Fish.

According to the employees, the Filet-o-Fish is much less popular than burgers, fries and other items on the menu, and therefore is rarely served fresh when ordered. Instead, the sandwiches are often left under a heating lamp for hours until someone finally asks for one. The employees said that if you really can’t live without a Filet-o-Fish, you should ask that McDonald’s prepare your sandwich right now instead of getting one that’s already available.

However, some McDonald’s fans said that this wasn’t a huge problem, and that when people order the Filet-o-Fish, they don’t expect it to be fresh.

In their defense, a spokesperson from McDonald’s gave the following statement to the Daily Mail, “While we always strive to freshly prepare orders, for customer convenience, there are times – such as during peak hours – when we prepare some ingredients in advance. Our Filet-O-Fish – which uses solely Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified wild-caught Alaska Pollock – continues to be a customer favorite around the world.”

That’s a pretty weak defense.
